Notice on the Application for the 2025 Soochow University Outstanding Graduate Scholarship in Radiation Medicine and Interdisciplinary Subjects (RAD-X) Established by Academician Chai Zhifang
To All Graduate Students,
The application process for the Soochow University Outstanding Graduate Scholarship in Radiation Medicine and Interdisciplinary Subjects (RAD-X), established by Academician Chai Zhifang, is about to commence. The relevant details are announced as follows:
I. Establishment of the Scholarship Management Committee
A Graduate Scholarship Management Committee has been established within the School of Radiation Medicine and Protection. Its members consist of faculty supervisors from both the School of Radiation Medicine and Protection and the Institute of Radiation Medicine and Interdisciplinary Sciences.
Ⅱ. Application Eligibility
Full-time doctoral and master's students registered with the School of Radiation Medicine and Protection or the Institute of Radiation Medicine and Interdisciplinary Sciences are eligible to apply. Graduates who have completed their studies within the past year and whose published papers list either the School of Radiation Medicine and Protection or the Institute of Radiation Medicine and Interdisciplinary Sciences of Soochow University as the first affiliation retain their application eligibility.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China and the socialist system; comply with laws and regulations; respect teachers; unite with fellow students; care for the collective; possess good moral character.
Be passionate about radiation medicine research; study diligently; diligently acquire scientific and cultural knowledge; maintain a proper academic attitude and excellent academic performance; actively participate in scientific research; possess a strong team spirit; and have outstanding research achievements.
Actively participate in social practice activities and various assigned tasks; engage actively in social work; strengthen physical exercise; care for the collective.
The publication date of papers and research achievements must fall within the period from May 25, 2024, to May 25, 2025. Papers and research results previously used to obtain the National Scholarship or other college donor-based scholarships cannot be reused. (The college will verify this and record any violations in the individual's academic integrity record).
Applications will NOT be accepted from individuals in any of the following circumstances:
(1) Those who have received any form of disciplinary sanction.
(2) Those who have failed one or more courses (including one course) or professional elective courses within one academic year.
(3) Those who have violated academic ethics, including engaging in plagiarism in academic research.
(4) Those who have been disqualified due to violations of dormitory management regulations.
Ⅲ. Application Materials and Deadline
Eligible graduate students must submit an application personally endorsed by their supervisor. The following materials are required:
Hard copy: Scholarship Application Form (see Attachment 1, one copy).
Hard copy: Copies of relevant supporting documents (For published papers: please mark the title page with your name, CAS Journal Partition, author ranking (e.g., sole first author or co-first author position), impact factor, circle the names of the applicant and the supervising teacher, the first affiliation, and the publication date).
Electronic copy: Summary Form (see Attachment 2).
All materials must be submitted to the respective class monitor. Monitors are to collect and submit the consolidated applications to Teacher Zhou Dandan at Room B303, Building 401, before 10:00 AM on June 30. Late submissions will not be accepted.
The scholarship defense is tentatively scheduled for July 1 - July 5. Eligible applicants will be required to give a 5-6 minute defense presentation (3-4 minutes for PPT presentation, 1-2 minutes for Q&A from the committee). The presentation should focus primarily on research achievements produced within the designated period and contributions to social services. Specific arrangements will be announced separately.
